Profile of Mr. Abdul Salik Khan 

Ambassador Abdul Salik Khan assumed his responsibilities as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Indonesia on 16 July, 2018. 

Prior to his appointment as Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Ambassador Khan served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan from February 2015 to July 2018.

Earlier he served as Director General (China & SCO), Director General (Afghanistan) and Director General East Asia Pacific (EAP) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from January 2013 to January 2015.

He is a career diplomat and has also served as Consul General of Pakistan, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2010-Dcember 2012) and Minister/Deputy Head of Mission in Beijing, China. (2006-2010)

Ambassador Khan holds a Master's degree in Literature and diploma in National Security. He also attended Arabic language course from American University, Cairo. 

In his professional life at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he remained, Director China, Japan, Korea (CJK) (2005-2006), Director, Gulf Region (GR) (2004-2005), Deputy Chief of Protocol, Camp Office Quetta (1996-97), Desk Officer/Acting Director, South Asia (1995-96), Desk Officer United Nations (1990-91), Desk Officer, Canada & Latin America (1988-89). 

His other overseas assignments included; Oman (1991-95), Germany (1997-2000) and Yemen (2000-2004). 

He is an ardent reader.

He is married to Fauzia Durrani Salik and has three children (two daughters and a son).
